This work shop is about IPv6 (and potentially IPv4) Extension Headers. Extension Headers, or EH, are a core part of IPv6 to make it an extensible protocol. This is an active area of interest as vairous forms of Extension Headers, especially Hop-by-Hop and Destination Options, are now being developed and deployed.
Some of the topics might include:
- Created and processing EH in eBPF - Work to mitigate packet drop in the Internet due to the presence of EH - Changes to Linux kernel to make them usable - Use cases of Hop-by-Hop Options for host to network signaling (like QoS) or network to host signaling like (like switch congestion signaling)
