This talk will discuss plans for Homa to hijack TCP, transmitting its packets on the network with the TCP protocol number and then separating Homa-over-TCP packets from real TCP packets at the destination. This will allow Homa to share the benefits of hardware support that has been implemented for TCP over the last several decades. The goal of the talk is to get feedback from the audience on the feasibility of this approach.
